" He narrated how the five boys told him to cut his own tongue if he did not want them to punch him up in the face.
Frightened, the boy did as he was told.

The mother's police report also stated that the boy had complained several times that he was being bullied by the group of boys."

This incident which happened in an elementary school in Malaysia had shocked the whole country. The safety of children in school is alarmed. What caused the children to bully the other kid with such a brutal idea? There is something wrong in the children's mind. Where did they get that idea? Where is the moral? Where is their conscience? Did they know the consequences of harming the other person?

I thought education is supposed to make people better, not only in academic, but as well as the character. In fact, it should be the education on how to be a great person. It is not pure knowledge that make you a great person but the correct way of thinking. Human is the only creature in the world who can think and acquire wisdom through our experience. Eventually we learn to empathize and form a harmonious society throughout the development of mankind. And that differentiate us from the other creature. Confucius said, 'without feelings of respect, what is there to distinguish men from beasts? ' 

Looking at the bully case, we can infer that the academic based education is not aiding the development of a student's character. Instead, mindset and thoughts never been really focus in the curriculum. Moral lesson is merely another academic based material which did not teach the students about morality. I remembered my moral lessons in school which consisted of boring discussion and fake projects in order to score high marks in the assessment.

How could we value morality in such a circumstances?

Looking at the scary incident, I can't imagine what will be the larger effect in the society if the education is not fix.
